Terms of Service

These terms apply when you download, install, or play Knights And Squires (the "Game"), whether you got it from Steam, Google Play, or play it on the web. The Game is made by Preeo ("we", "us"). By playing, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.
Store terms also apply
If you got the Game through Steam or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to you: the Steam Subscriber Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service. Purchases, payments, and refunds are handled entirely by the store you bought from, under that store's refund policy. We never see or handle your payment details. Valve and Google aren't parties to these terms and aren't responsible for the Game or its content.
Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, on devices you own or control and in line with these terms and the store terms. The Game is licensed to you, not sold: we (and our licensors) keep all rights, title, and interest in it, including its code, artwork, music, sounds, and name.
You agree not to:
- copy, resell, rent, or redistribute the Game, except as the store you got it from allows;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the Game, except where the law gives you a right to that can't be taken away;
- use cheats, bots, exploits, or automation to gain an unfair advantage in online matches;
- attack, overload, or try to get unauthorised access to our servers, or disrupt other players' games.
Online play and conduct
Online matches (Host Game / Join Game) connect you to other players through our relay server. When you play online, please be decent to the people you're playing against. In particular, don't pick a display name that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, impersonates someone else, or infringes someone's rights.
We may remove offending names, end matches, or block access to online play for anyone who breaks these rules or misuses the service. We don't monitor every match and aren't responsible for how other players behave, but you can report problems to us at the contact address below or via the in-game "Send feedback" option.
Online features may change
Online play, game recording, feedback, and any other online features rely on our servers. We'll do our best to keep them running, but we don't promise they'll always be available, and we may change, pause, or retire them, for example for maintenance or if the Game is eventually discontinued. Playing against the AI and hotseat play run on your own device and don't need our servers.
Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs, rebalance the AI, or add, change, or remove features. Some updates may be required to keep playing online with others.
Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the Game, without owing you anything for it.
Your privacy
What the Game collects and how it's used is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't make any promises beyond those in these terms, including that the Game will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived or limited by contract, including your rights under the laws of the country where you live.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Game. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the Game is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the Game at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or end your access to online play. The sections on ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability still apply after that.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll try to give notice in the Game or on this website. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
